THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION

SONJA LYNN MATA as Sam Adams

SONJA LYNN MATA as Walter Cronkite

Another highlight of the Q&A was when an audience member asked MATA, who wore pigtails while playing Sputnik, if she should have worn four braids instead of two (to reflect Sputnik's four antennae). "We had this conversation before call time!" MATA replied.”- Doris Elin Urrutia, Space.com

Making (the) Movement

In honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, I co-curated a dance arts festival Making (the) Movement with Claire Bauman and Grace DeSant in association with (re)discover theatre and Pursuit Productions. Together we were featured in the Chicago Reader. The proceeds from Making (the) Movement went to three organizations that work to combat sexual assault: Awakenings Foundation, Rape Victims Advocates (Resilience), and Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation.
